Motor Transport Instructional Company

Ft. Leonard Wood, MO

The Motor Transport Instructional Company holds three main courses:

1) Motor Vehicle Operators Course
The purpose of the Motor Vehicle Operator Course is to train entry level Marines the basics of operating motor transport equipment, preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), emergency procedures, cargo loading, ground guide procedures, and operating a load handling system (LHS) on equipment from 2 ¼ tons to 27 tons. MOS 3531 will be assigned only to graduating students.

2) Semitrailer Refueler Operator Course
The purpose of the Semitrailer Refueler Operator Course is to train qualified Marines (MOS 353x) to operate and maintain the MK31 tactical tractor and the MK970 Semitrailer Refueler in support of ground and aviation equipment during combat and garrison operations as well as instruction in crew/operator level maintenance. The NMOS 3534 will be assigned only to graduating students.

3) Vehicle Recovery Course
The purpose of course is to train qualified Marines MOS 3531 or 3537 to operate MK36 medium and MKR15 heavy tactical wreckers to recover disabled tactical wheeled vehicles in support of combat and garrison operations. In addition, the operator performs crew/operator PMCS and maintains tools and equipment.
